Happy children as just children.
35 years of Helpcode
In these years, countless lives have been touched and transformed thanks to the dedication of our colleagues: from the rural communities in the remotest regions of Nepal to the classrooms in peripheral areas of Italy. From the displaced camps in northern Mozambique to the conflict-affected areas in Ukraine, Helpcode has brought comfort, support, and opportunities where they were needed most.
All of this has been possible thanks to you: supporters, volunteers, partners, and friends of Helpcode, who have chosen to do your part in building a fairer world.
Thank you!
In 2023, we supported 452,125 people, including more than 215,000 children and young people, of whom over 34,000 are involved in the Child sponsorship program.
This program allows us to intervene in vulnerable communities in Nepal, Cambodia, Mozambique, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, defending one of the fundamental rights of children and youth: education. We carry out various joint actions in collaboration with school councils and local institutions.
We raised 7,634,219 euros, 78% of which came from institutional donors and 22% from private donors.

“Among the most recent stories, I was deeply moved by that of a little girl, about 4 years old, who was brought to us by the local police because she had gotten lost. She could tell us her name and her mother’s name, but she didn’t know how to contact her, except for telling us that her mother worked at a particular market. We went there several times, but without any positive results. Until another woman working there explained to us that the mother had stopped working since she lost her daughter, and she pointed us to where we could find her, at home. In this case, we were lucky. After many searches and never giving up, after 6 long months during which the little girl stayed at the Ek’abana center and was cared for by our staff, she was finally able to reunite with her mother.”

“I know what early marriage and rape are, and I know the consequences they bring. The women and girls at the center know that they can talk to me if something is happening, and I can accompany them to the Helpcode team for support. In the protection houses, we talk and discuss gender-based violence, but together, we also know how to have fun, forgetting about what’s happening outside for a few hours.”

“When my father passed away in 2019, leaving me with my mother and five younger siblings, I felt overwhelmed by the weight of my responsibilities. Life in the displacement camp was not easy, and I struggled to provide for my family’s basic needs. In November 2023, I attended a meeting with the Helpcode staff in our camp, and I was very excited to participate in the project: I poured my heart and soul into every lesson. The trainer was patient and supportive, guiding me through every step of the process.
With these tools in hand, after completing 30 days of training, I am now able to work as a mobile phone repair technician right here in the camp, addressing a significant need because many women are reluctant to approach men to repair their phones, so they can come to me.
I am proud of what I have accomplished, and I am full of enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunities ahead.”

“We expect to improve our lives because we will have more income thanks to the use of more effective agricultural techniques. I have young grandchildren whom I send to school, and I can’t wait to be able to afford all the expenses for their education without any problems.”
