Contribute to lasting, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Tunisia through the promotion of sustainable tourism, promoting full employment and decent work for all.
Increase employment opportunities in the sustainable tourism sector by strengthening training for young people and stakeholders in the sector, promoting the cultural and environmental heritage of the Jendouba region.
1. Training provision in the sustainable tourism sector is strengthened and better responds to the needs and potential of the tourism sector for the creation of innovative, high-quality jobs that promote cultural and environmental heritage.
2. Employment and business creation opportunities in sustainable tourism are encouraged for the benefit of young people.
3. Institutions, local stakeholders and communities are strengthened and establish functional relationships for the enhancement of cultural and environmental heritage and promote innovation processes related to sustainable tourism.
The TRAME project – TRAdition and Innovation for new Professions in sustainable tourism in Tunisia – was created to enhance the still largely unexplored tourism potential of the governorate of Jendouba, an area rich in biodiversity and cultural heritage but marked by high unemployment rates, especially among young people and women.
The initiative, promoted by Helpcode Italia ETS together with local and international partners, aims to strengthen vocational training in sustainable tourism professions, promoting job placement and the creation of new businesses.
Through innovative technical and on-the-job training courses, support for craft and nature-based start-ups, and the strengthening of local institutions, TRAME aims to promote an inclusive and sustainable development model. In line with the 2030 Agenda, the project contributes to creating decent employment, enhancing cultural and environmental heritage, and promoting north-western Tunisia as an example of responsible and sustainable tourism.
