Contributing to improvement of the living conditions of the vulnerable population affected by the conflict in Yemen.
Empowering vulnerable households in camps and settlements for displaced persons through an integrated approach providing dietary support and education in the governorate of Ad-Dhale’e.
– Food security has improved for 1000 vulnerable people.
– The quality of the target school buildings has improved.
Eight years have gone by since the outbreak of the conflict in Yemen. It began in 2015, and the country is still suffering one of the world’s most serious humanitarian crises. The conflict, which broke out in a context of pre-existing socio-economic crisis, has severely affected the population and reduced an already fragile system of public services to total collapse. It has produced civil victims, with a dramatic increase in the number of internally displaced persons and the consequent need for humanitarian aid for the civil population. More than 23.4 million people – almost three quarters of the population – were in need of humanitarian assistance and protection in 2022: a 13% increase over 2021.
The proposed action, with a duration of 18 months, aims to improve the condition of the most vulnerable part of the population affected by the conflict in Yemen through an integrated form of support / approach to dietary assistance (using the “cash for work” method) and education in the governate of Ad-Dhale’e. The proposed project will take place in five camps for internally displaced persons and villages in the governorate in question.
