Contributing to the process of digitalisation and innovation in teaching to provide a quality education.
Improving teachers’ and students’ knowledge through orientation and training to improve skills in the areas of the STEM disciplines, digitalisation and innovation.
Improved digital skills and teaching skills among faculty
Development of critical and computational thought
Reduction of the gender gap in the choice of STEM study programmes and careers
Integration of digital skills in teaching practices, updating the curriculum.
This educational project for teachers and faculty promotes the digital transition through education. The training programme includes four MASTERCLASSES addressing issues in digital education and updating of teaching curricula, construction of a digital identity, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, hands-on workshops will be held for teachers in different kinds of disciplines, applying the methods learned to the planning of teaching units. Programmes for students aim to promote equal opportunities for both genders to access STEM studies and careers and strengthen skills in the STEM disciplines, digitalisation and innovation among students at all levels of schooling. There will be a specific focus on overcoming gender stereotypes and the gender gap, directing the talents of female students toward the study of STEM disciplines and further reinforcing their skills.
The pedagogical approach is based on workshops and learning by doing, problem-solving and use of the inductive method, on the ability to activate a synthetic, creative form of intelligence, on the organisation of teams for cooperative learning, on the promotion of critical thought in today’s digital society, and on adoption of innovative teaching methods.
Third-year middle school students will be provided with mentoring and orientation, on the basis of a customised approach encouraging them to undertake studies and careers in the STEM disciplines, appreciating students’ talents, experiences and inclination toward the disciplines of mathematics, science and technology in the choice of senior secondary school.
