Helpcode’s partnership with Hapag-Lloyd began a few months ago, when the company decided to support some of our initiatives in Ukraine, particularly the Dream Center operated by the Children New Generation association, offering free educational and recreational activities with a special focus on children with disabilities and programmes for autistic children.   

We talked about the partnership with Valeriy Leonov, Ukraine Country Manager Hapag-Lloyd, who told us about the company’s point of view.  

  1. We know that Hapag-Lloyd, as a globally active company, is committed to acting responsibly towards society and the environment. What in particular made you choose to support Helpcode?  

We are committed to aligning our corporate values with impactful initiatives that advance society and the environment. Hapag Lloyd established the “Hapag Lloyd Cares” program to embody one of our core values: WE CARE. Helpcode’s mission strongly aligns with our commitment to responsible corporate citizenship. Their dedication to aiding the most vulnerable resonates deeply with us, providing a meaningful avenue to effect positive change. Through supporting Helpcode, we endeavor to contribute to a sustainable and socially responsible future. 

  1. Among the various projects and countries in which Helpcode operates, why did you choose to contribute to activities in Ukraine?  

Our decision to extend our involvement to activities in Ukraine is driven by multiple factors. Firstly, Ukraine is undergoing unique challenges, requiring immediate assistance and solidarity. Secondly, our relationship with Ukraine deepened significantly in 2021 with the establishment of our Country office in Odessa, fostering a strong connection and a sense of responsibility towards the region. 

  1. What made you decide to support the Dream Centre, which takes in children with disabilities? What aspect did you focus on most and why? 

Our dedication to promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all individuals, including those with disabilities, is unwavering. The Dream Centre’s mission aligns with our values of cultivating a more inclusive society. Additionally, we firmly believe in the potential of every child, irrespective of their abilities, and we are committed to establishing an environment that nurtures their talents and facilitates their realization of their full potential.

The “Hapag-Lloyd Cares” program doesn’t just provide financial support; it underscores the significance and worth of employees’ active involvement in the initiatives proposed by these associations. It serves as a reminder that every contribution matters, and collective action amplifies our impact.
