Contributing to the consolidation of peace in districts in Mozambique.
Reinforcing the means of subsistence of rural communities in the districts affected by conflicts, with a special focus on empowerment of women and of vulnerable groups.
1. Optimising public investment and adding to the supply of services in rural districts and municipalities
2. Promoting the adoption of farming technologies and practices responding to climate change in order to increase productivity.
3. Reinforcing integration in the market and economic activities other than farming in communities affected by conflict.
The project promotes and supports local economic development in order to improve rural means of subsistence, as a key to peace, reconciliation and stability.
This will be achieved through small-scale infrastructure development and improved access to public services for communities affected by the conflict, which will participate firsthand in the identification of the actions and in their implementation, management and maintenance.
These activities will not only encourage more responsible relationships between local institutions and the communities affected by conflict, but lay the foundations for agricultural development and integration of agriculture-related economic activities with extra-agricultural and non-agricultural enterprises, promoting diversification of the means of subsistence.
